The Teachings of the Apostles
Acts 2:38 Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness
of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Romans 2:1 You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at
whatever point you judge another, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do
the same things.
Romans 6:12-14 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires.
Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to
God as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer every part of yourself to him as an
instrument of righteousness. For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the
law, but under grace.
Romans 8:12-14 Therefore, brothers and sisters, we have an obligation—but it is not to the flesh, to
live according to it. For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to
death the misdeeds of the body, you will live. For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the
children of God.
Romans 12:1-2 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your
bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not
conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
Romans 12:3 Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with
sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you.
Romans 12:9-21 Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one
another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual
fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with the Lord’s
people who are in need. Practice hospitality. Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not
curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. Live in harmony with one
another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited.
Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. If it is
possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Do not take revenge, my dear
friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the
Lord. On the contrary: “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to
drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.” Do not be overcome by evil, but
overcome evil with good.
Romans 13:1 & 7 Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority
except that which God has established. Give to everyone what you owe them: If you owe taxes,
pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.
Romans 13:8-9 Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another..Love
your neighbor as yourself.
Romans 13:13-14 ...put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light... behave decently,
as in the daytime, not in carousing and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and debauchery,
not in dissension and jealousy. Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think
about how to gratify the desires of the flesh.
Romans 14:19 ...make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification.
Romans 14:13 ...stop passing judgment on one another...
Romans 15:7 Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.

contrary to the teaching you have learned. Keep away from them.
1 Corinthians 1:10 ...agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among
you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought.
1 Corinthians 6:18-20 Flee from sexual immorality...whoever sins sexually, sins against their own
body. Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have

your bodies.

your anger do not sin...do not let the sun go down while you are still angry... and do not give the
devil a foothold. Anyone who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something
useful with their own hands, that they may have something to share with those in need. Do not let any
unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according
to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with
whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling
and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving
each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. .. among you there must not be even a

holy people. Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but
rather thanksgiving.

all together in perfect unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts...you were called to peace.
And be thankful. Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one

everything for our enjoyment. Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be
generous and willing to share. In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm
foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life.

quarrelsome but must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful. Opponents must be gently
instructed, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth,
and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them
captive to do his will.
