|The Greatest Story Ever Told About
The Greatest Man That Ever Lived
Did you know that according to the Bible, Jesus is coming back 2 more times? This is where a lot
of confusion occurs because some scriptures refer to his 2nd coming and some to his 3rd coming.
If we are to understand the Bible correctly, then we need to be able to know which coming each
scripture refers to.
Jesus has already been here once, he died and was resurrected, and is now seated at the right
hand of the Father in heaven. And he promised to return, which he will. His next coming will be at
the resurrection/rapture. At that time, he will not come back to earth, but he will meet the saints in
the clouds and take them to heaven.
"For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the
archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, the Christians who have died will rise from their
graves. Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in
the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Then we will be with the Lord forever."
1 Thessalonians 4:16 -18
Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed in a flash, in the twinkling
of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and
we will be changed. 1 Corinthians 15:51-52
These scriptures describe the resurrection/rapture. But they are not the only ones, Jesus also
spoke a lot about the resurrection and rapture which is actually one event with the resurrection
happening first and then the rapture.
Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding with a
hand mill; one will be taken and the other left. Matthew 24:40-41
My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to
prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be
with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.”
“Lord,” Martha said to Jesus, “if you had been here, my brother would not have died. But I know that
even now God will give you whatever you ask.” Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again.”
Martha answered, “I know he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.” Jesus said to her, “I
am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and
whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?” John 11:21-26
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who
does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not
prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many
miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’
In the above scriptures Jesus is talking about the resurrection/rapture. This is his 2nd coming.
This is when he comes FOR his saints. He takes them off this earth at the beginning of the
Tribulation and they spend 7 years in heaven getting ready for when they will come back with
Jesus to set up his Kingdom on earth. This will be his 3rd coming. These are the scriptures that
refer to his 3rd coming.
“Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth will
mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory.
And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four
winds, from one end of the heavens to the other." Matthew 24:30-31
“When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious
throne. All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another
as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. He will put the sheep on his right and the goats
on his left." Matthew 25:31-33
"I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful
and True... His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on
him that no one knows but he himself. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the
Word of God. The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine
linen, white and clean. Coming out of his mouth is a sharp sword with which to strike down the
nations. “He will rule them with an iron scepter.” He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of
God Almighty. On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: king of kings and lord of
lords. Revelation 19:11-16
Some confuse these scriptures with Jesus' 2nd coming, the rapture coming but they don't refer to
that. For example in Matthew 24:30-31 above, the people on earth will SEE the Son of Man
coming. This is why it can't refer to the ressurection/rapture because at that coming no one will
SEE him. It will be in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, and he will not come to earth, the saints will
meet him in the clouds. That is why this scripture has to refer to his 3rd coming when he comes to
set up his Kingdom on earth. This is why this scripture does not refer to the rapture coming and
why the rapture does not happen at the end of the Tribulation but at the beginning.
