Scriptures concerning the nature of the sun, moon and stars:

Genesis 1:
14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night;
and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:
15 And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was
so.
16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the
night: he made the stars also.
17 And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,
18 And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God
saw that it was good.

your God has apportioned to all the nations under heaven.

Joshua 10:13 And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged
themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in

Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge.  They have no
speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them.  Yet their voice goes out into all the earth,
their words to the ends of the world. In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun.  It is like a
bridegroom coming out of his chamber, like a champion rejoicing to run his course. It rises at one
end of the heavens and makes its circuit to the other; nothing is deprived of its warmth.

7 To him that made great lights
... The sun to rule by day...9 The moon and stars to rule by night:

make dark over thee, and set darkness upon thy land, saith the Lord God.

2-14   I watched as he opened the sixth seal. There was a great earthquake. The sun
turned black like sackcloth made of goat hair, the whole moon turned blood red, 13 and the stars in

receded like a scroll being rolled up, and every mountain and island was removed from its place.

wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.
12 And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the
moon, and the third part of the stars; so as the third part of them was darkened, and the day shone
not for a third part of it, and the night likewise.

Revelation 12:4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the
earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her
child as soon as it was born.
